SOPHIE RELEASES EXPLOSIVE AND SEXY 2005 GOLF CALENDAR

(Milan, Italy January 6 2005) Sophie Sandolo from Italy is well known for her daring dress sense on the golf course and embodies perfectly the chic, stylish modern female golfer and this week, the French-born Italian sent shockwaves through the sport as she released her own personal calendar to the public at a press evening in a disco in Milan.

Billed as explosive and sexy, Sophie has pulled no punches with a daring, yet tastefully shot nude front cover, which is sure to divide opinions among the golf community. But in Italy, the media have received it warmly and Sophie, a graduate in Marketing from UCLA University, is already in demand for photo shoots and interviews.

Golf needs more visibility, glamour and a new image, admitted the 28-year-old, who said that part of the revenue from sales of the calendar will be donated towards the relief effort for victims of the recent Tsunami in South east Asia.

Ive tried to bring my small contribution and hopefully open new doors which could bring more notoriety to the sport I play and I love so much. For that reason Ive accepted the proposal to pose for a sexy calendar.

My first sexy calendar is intended to represent my love for golf, my desire for freedom and a touch of coquetry and Im instinctively attracted by fashion, elegance and glamour.

Womens golf needs both great players who are charming, fun and intriguing. We need to enrich the game of golf with a pinch of glamour and the elegance typical of the womanly grace.

Born in Nice but of Italian nationality, Sophie is one of the best and most glamorous golf professionals on the Robe di Kappa Ladies European Tour. After a brilliant amateur career Sophie gained her card to play the LET at the end of the 1999 season.

In a five year career to date, she has played 68 events with six top ten finishes and 14 top 20s with her career best finish a tie for second place at the Spanish Open in 2003.

56 tall (171cm) with dark blond hair and green eyes Sophie enjoys most sports, as well as movies, dancing and shopping.

In the last seasons she has represented the prestigious Italian fashion companies Gruppo La Perla, Conte of Florence and Luciano Barbera.
